I tried a new recipe!

I wanted to share this yummy vegan pasta with you. ♡ This is the first time I have blended up my own pasta sauce and it was SO worth it! Not only was this creamy pasta sauce delicious but it was also dairy-free (which my lactose intolerance was loving!) So first things first, I am going to list all the ingredients I used below. ⤵

Now for as the quantities of each ingredient, I stuck to this:

  • Half a box of noodles

  • 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil

  • 1 white onion (or even just half the onion if you don’t want it as strong)

  • 3-4 cloves of garlic

  • 1 can of tinned tomatoes (or 3-4 tomatoes)

  • 1/2 teaspoon of oregano, 1/2 teaspoon of thyme, and 1/2 teaspoon of rosemary

  • 1 tablespoon tomato paste

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable broth

  • 3 tablespoons of vegan cream (if you want it to be less creamy, add less of this)

  • Top with some basil or dairy-free cheese

Are You Ready? Let’s Get Cooking.

First, dice the onion and 3-4 garlic cloves. This is when you’d want to cut up the 3-4 tomatoes too (if you opted for fresh instead of tinned.)

Second, put the 2-3 tablespoons of olive oil in your pan and let it heat up. I cooked the onions, garlic, and tomatoes (only if fresh) until the onion starts to become translucent. For me, this took about 4 minutes on medium heat.

Third, add all those flavorful herbs. So the 1/2 teaspoon of oregano, thyme, and rosemary. Feel free to throw in some salt & pepper too. You’ll also be adding in the 1 tablespoon of tomato paste and 1 tablespoon of vegetable broth. Lastly, you are going to add in the TINNED TOMATOES (if you opted for those.) Let it all simmer for about 10 minutes.

Fourth, start to cook your noodles as you normally would.

Fifth, get the blender ready! When the herbs and vegetables are done cooking, pour the contents into the blender. Then proceed to blend the tomato sauce until it is smooth. This is when you’ll want to add in your desired amount of vegan cream. Then do some more blending until it seems to have all come together.

Sixth, drain and rinse your pasta noodles. Put the noodles and sauce back into the saucepan, coating the noodles in sauce. Add more salt & pepper if you would like. But you did it! You just made your very own pasta sauce. Now all you need is to top it off with some basil or dairy-free cheese.

I would love to see how yours came out or if you put your own take on it! Let me know by commenting on my YouTube or TikTok. ☺
